2017 was a good year for the local cinema, if not a great one. We saw films like Punjab Nahi Jaongi, Na Maloom Afraad 2, Verna, and the most recent Chupan Chupai. All these film were not great, but they managed to make a mark for one reason or another.

Now that 2018 is in full swing, let’s have a look at all the Upcoming Pakistani Movies that will grace the cinema screens this year, and we have to say, this is one interesting line up, so without any further ado, let’s have a look at what’s in store for us this year.

Teefa in Trouble

The much-awaited Teefa in Trouble is Ahsan Rahim’s big-screen debut, and is anticipated to release in the coming months. The romantic Action-Comedy film stars none other than Ali Zafar, who has bulked up to look like a medieval action hero for the film.

Alongside Ali, Maya Ali is ready to charm everyone with her looks, and acting skills as the female lead of the film. While the details are still unknown, we are quite excited to see what these two talented actors will cook up together.

Teefa In Trouble

Saat Din Muhabbat In

Mahira Khan and Shahrryar Munawar are all geared up to enthrall the cinema goers with their film Saat Din Muhabbat In. The film follows the quest of a young man to find his true love in the Karachi neighborhood.

The star-studded cast of the film includes Javed Shaikh, Hina Dilpazeer, Ayesha Omar, and Mira Sethi besides the lead couple, and is all set to unveil its magic on Eid-ul-Fitr.

Waar 2

Back in the days when Waar made its way to the cinema screens, it was all the rage amongst the people, and was said to change the landscape of Pakistani Cinema. The film became the highest grossing film in Pakistan’s cinematic history in no time.

Well, the sequel to the hit is already in the making. The film starring Shaan Shahid in the lead also stars Bilal Ashraf, and Ayub Khoso among others. Directed by Hassan Waqas Rana, the film is slated to release in 2018.

Maula Jatt 2

Maula Jatt 2 is talk of the town right now and the film is not even here yet. The film has kept the audiences on their toes mostly because the film stars none other than Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and others, and also because Bilal Lashari is directing it .

The film is a sequel to the Pakistani cult classic, Maula Jatt – a memorable film starring Sultan Rahi in the title role that became the biggest box office hit in Pakistan’s history after its release. The film is all set to release this year, and we can’t wait to see what this star-studded cast has in store for us this time around.

Project Ghazi

Project Ghazi is Pakistan’s first ever superhero film that adds a new genre to the Pakistan’s film landscape. The film was supposed to release in 2017, but in a surprising move, the film’s release was pushed back after the premiere as it required some extensive technical work.

Project Ghazi

The film stars Humayun Saeed in the lead role along with Shahryar Munawar, and Syra Shehroz. The team hasn’t announced a new date yet, but we hope the delay in release was for the better, and it’s a good watch.

JPNA 2

It has been almost two years since the release of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani but the film seems to have left an indelible mark on the Pakistani Cinema. The film won several awards at 2nd ARY Film Awards, and 15th Lux Style Awards for being an out-an-out entertainer.

Now the sequel of the film is confirmed and stars Humayun Saeed, Vasay Chaudhry, Fahad Mustafa, Kubra Khan and others. The film will be released on Eid ul Azha this year.

Zarrar

A spy action thriller – all you need to know about Shaan Shahid’s latest movie to gear up for its release. Zarrar is shot in Pakistan and the United Kingdom and has the highest budget till yet for any action film in Pakistan.

Pakistani model Kiran Malik is set to debut in the film opposite to Shaan. The film also stars David Laurence, a renowned British Actor. Watch out for this one!

Wujood

A revenge thriller film is all set to release in Pakistan, so we couldn’t be happier of course. Who doesn’t love thrillers? The Javed Shaikh film concluded its shooting in Turkey last year, and is slated to release in 2018. The film stars none other than Danish Taimoor, Kubra Khan, and Javed Shaikh himself.

Wujood

Cake

Sanam Saeed, Aamina Shaikh, and Adnan Malik are ready to take you on a sweet journey with Cake The Film. While we do think the teaser of the film gives some Kapoor and Sons vibes, but we’ll have to wait and watch the film to find out whether it’s true or not. The film is all set to release on March 30th 2018, and seems like a film we should look out for.

Sherdil

Another film to pay homage to the air warriors of Pakistan – Sherdil’s first teaser is now out. Armeena Khan took it to twitter to share the first look of her feature film that stars Mikaal Zulfiqar in the male lead.  The film is centered on Pakistan in 1965, and focuses of the role of pilots in the war. We are looking forward to what this pair has for us.

 

Parwaz Hai Junoon

A tribute to the Pakistan Airforce, Parwaz Hai Junoon is a Momina Duraid production starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Marina Khan, Kubra Khan, and Hania Amir in the lead roles. The film is being produced in collaboration with Pakistan Airforce, and intends to pay tribute to the armed forces by highlighting the true events.

The film that’s penned down by Farhat Ishtiaq also stars real life airforce pilots, and officers along the lead cast. Slated to release in 2018, that’s one film we can’t wait to see.
